ICMAI released the study materials for the 2023 CMA exams on its official website. Alternatively, students can order the study material online or download it in pdf format.

Study material for the 2022 exams covers all topics. During exam preparation, students should only use the ICWAI modules.

Pattern for ICWAI CMA Exams at All Three Levels

A thorough understanding of the exam pattern for each level of the CMA course is necessary before taking any of the exams. You learn about the exam pattern in the The type of questions to be asked, the time limit, the weightage of various chapters, and the number of questions expected in the exam are all described in the exam instructions. Two levels are held every year for each level.

Let’s take a look at the CA Foundation exam pattern.

Passing Marks & Pattern for CMA Foundation Exam

Each CMA Foundation exam paper carries 100 marks and lasts three hours. A further fifteen minutes will be given to applicants to review the CMA foundation questions.

Questions will be both descriptive and objective. Further, the CMA Foundation is composed of 60% objective components and 40% subjective components. During the CMA foundation exam, students will be required to split their time. In the papers, there are no negative marks.

Every examination subject must be passed with 40 percent, and the overall score must be 50 percent.

Pattern & Passing Marks of CMA Intermediate Exam

A total of eight subjects are offered at the Intermediate level of the CMA, divided into two groups. The papers each have 100 marks and a three-hour time limit.

CMA Inter papers will consist of objective and descriptive questions. Furthermore, wrong answers will not be penalized. A minimum of 40 percent is required on every examination subject and a minimum of 50 percent overall to pass the CMA Intermediate exam.

The chapter weight of each paper varies in the CMA Intermediate course syllabus, so check it before starting. It is better to pay more attention to the sections with the highest percentages. 

Passing Scores for CMA Final Exams

A CMA Final Exam consists of eight subjects divided into two groups of four subjects each. In addition, both objective and subjective questions are included. Each paper has 100 questions, and there are three hours to complete it. There are 120 questions in total.

In addition, negative marking is not allowed. In addition, the exam mode will be offline and center-based. Passing the CMA Final requires a 40% average across all papers and a 50% aggregate.

Dates for CMA exams in December 2022

On its official website, ICMAI has released the dates for the Dec 2022 CMA exam.

Dec 2022 CMA Foundation Exam Dates:

On January 13, 2022, the papers for the CMA Foundation exams will be administered. There will also be an online component to the paper.

CMA Exam Exemption: How to apply?

In the event that a student fails to clear a group, but gets 60+ marks in one of the papers in that group, he will be exempt from appearing in that paper in the next attempt. It will be assumed that the marks for the exempted paper will be 50 in the next attempt in order to calculate the overall percentage.

Marks carried forward in the CMA exam

The marks of the exempted papers will be carried forward in the next attempt if a candidate fails to clear a group but scores 60+ marks in any paper.

Taking the CMA exam? Here is your admit card

It usually takes CMA a week to release the CMA exam admit cards. Admit cards for CMA exams can be downloaded online from the official site of ICMAI.

The admit card must be carried by all students in the examination hall. Exams cannot be taken if this is the case. Therefore, it is always a good idea to keep an eye on the ICMAI website for notifications on a regular basis.

Exam day verification requires information from the admit card. Candidate admission cards contain the following information:

• Candidates’ names, signatures, photographs, and dates of birth
• Candidate’s address at home
• An indication of the center’s name and code
• Exam date, time, and location
• Number of rolls
• A guide to the exam
• A list of the names and addresses of the test centers assigned to you
• The registration number

Candidates must verify the information printed on their admit cards once they have been published on the site. Applicants may notify the ICMAI authorities within the allotted time frame if any errors are found in their information. In addition, if you are unable to access your admission card, get in touch with the authorities.
